ChildONEurope is made up of:

• an Assembly
• a Secretariat

ChildONEurope is made up of an Assembly and a Secretariat. The Assembly is composed of the Network members. It is the  decision-making body of the Network. In the Assembly, the institutions  nominated by EU States that are not Network members, are admitted in  the capacity of associated members.
A Chairperson and a Vice-Chairperson are elected by the ChildONEurope  Assembly for the period of two years with the task to chair the  Assembly. In close consultation with the Secretariat, Chairperson and 
Vice-Chairperson represent the Network and prepare the Agenda of the  Assembly. Both of them maintain their function for one year after  which the interchange their charge for another year. (the Chairperson 
becomes Vice-Chairperson and vice-versa). Their mandate is renewable  once.
The Assembly may set up scientific working groups in connection with  the themes under study by the Network.
Besides the Assemblies of Network Members there will be other instances devoted to discuss specific topics that will be enlarged to the most important international organizations ( IGOs ), non governmental organizations ( NGOs ) or individual experts working on childhood related matters agreed upon by the Members according to the subject dealt.

The Secretariat of the Network (Secretariat) has a role enabling it to make proposals and it performs the following functions:

a. Technical, logistic and documentary support

• organising of the Network Assemblies and events
• constructing and managing a common web page
• promoting comparative studies, research and best practices

b.Communication

• exchanging of documents on laws, policies, programmes, statistics, events and other information between the Network Members
• promoting co-operation between the Network Members and the Network Observers
•  promoting co-operation with other IGOs and NGOs

c. Development phase

• promoting a common system of documentation in the legal, statistical and bibliographical spheres
• drafting of summary or comparative documents on the Network Members request with the support of the Biblioteca Innocenti Library
• publishing the results of studies, research and events

The Secretariat's functions have been assigned to the Italian National Childhood and Adolescence Documentation and Analysis Centre whose activities are managed by the Istituto degli Innocenti of Florence in agreement with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Department of Family Policies and with the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
